    Former METALLICA bassist Ron McGovney has dismissed SAXON singer Biff Byford's anecdote about the first show the two bands played together as "total fiction."
    During a new appearance on "The Chuck Shute Podcast", Byford recounted a funny incident that allegedly happened when METALLICA was the support act for SAXON when the veteran British heavy metal act played at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California in March 1982.
